ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACKLASH
As we teeter on the brink of losing Roe v. Wade, as we mark yet another International Women’s Day, and as we pass through another Women’s History Month, I can’t help but wonder, not at how far we’ve come, but why, oh why, are we still having to fight so damn hard to get there?
WE STILL WON’T GO BACK
I originally wrote and sent this last November, in the month that President Biden’s Supreme Court Reform Commission was preparing its final report of recommendations for SCOTUS reform. It feels pertinent to revisit it now, during Women’s History Month, as we near ever closer to the date when SCOTUS will most likely end Roe v. Wade as we know it, and I have updated with the commission’s now completed “analysis.”

We can make sure we are getting our news free of propaganda and from the most reliable sources. In fact, there are so many ways, it can be overwhelming. It doesn’t have to save the world. REDISTRICTING – HOW IT’S SHAKING OUT
Whoo-ie is it getting crazy here in California after the “final” (pending official approval) 2021 redistricting maps were released in December. First, it is not easy trying to figure out where we fall in all of this. When Googling “district maps for California…” there are multiple articles about it, maps readily available from 2011 and even 2001 lines, but it’s like looking through a needle in a haystack to narrow things down and try to find out (a) where WE here in the KRV fall, and (b) who is running to represent us in the 2022 election cycle….
