Measure K will be on the November 8 ballot, and it is a measure that will affect ALL of us in the rural, “unincorporated” areas of Kern County. Measure K is also known as the “Unincorporated Public Safety, Vital Services, and Local Control Measure.” If enacted, this measure would “establish a 1-cent locally dedicated and controlled sales tax in unincorporated Kern County to fund vital services.”

REDISTRICTING – HOW IT’S SHAKING OUT
Whoo-ie is it getting crazy here in California after the “final” (pending official approval) 2021 redistricting maps were released in December. First, it is not easy trying to figure out where we fall in all of this. When Googling “district maps for California…” there are multiple articles about it, maps readily available from 2011 and even 2001 lines, but it’s like looking through a needle in a haystack to narrow things down and try to find out (a) where WE here in the KRV fall, and (b) who is running to represent us in the 2022 election cycle….
