Statewide Day of Action for TJ Cox: OUR House! (CA21)
July 19, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Please register/RSVP at: https://www.mobilize.us/cadems/event/283587/
California Democrats like YOU energized the nation in 2018 by flipping seven Congressional districts from red to blue!
Join the statewide Day of Action on Sunday, July 19 and help defend one of our New Blue Districts, CA-21. We are mobilizing to call voters about our fantastic Congressman TJ Cox and urging them to cast their precious vote for him this November.
California Democratic Party Chair Rusty Hicks will kick off the Day of Action at 1:00 p.m. with a quick Town Hall. Then we’ll take action to “Hold the House” by calling for TJ Cox.
During his first term in Congress, Rep. Cox has been hard at work serving on the Agriculture and National Resources committees and introducing legislation to improve water access for the agricultural industry and drinking water for disadvantaged communities.
Rep. Cox is an advocate for immigrants and Dreamers, the latter of whom he says “are just as American as my own kids.” Trump would love to get rid of him if he could.
And in 2018, this election was SO VERY close that it took more than three weeks to count the ballots and call TJ Cox the winner. Cox’s victory was a surprise upset, as most election forecasters rated his GOP opponent David Valadao as the voters’ favorite. Now Valadao is challenging Rep. Cox in an attempt to reclaim his former seat.
As Rep. Karen Bass said shortly after the Blue Tsunami of Congressional wins in 2018, “we’re only renting these seats” and we need to fight hard in 2020 to defend them. That time is now!
District 21 is located in the San Joaquin Valley and includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Kern, and Tulare counties. Cities in the district include Coalinga, Delano, Hanford, and part of Bakersfield.
